About the Canis Panther

Description

This breed was made in the USA by Mr.Cleotha "scropio" Jones and wife Doranna in 1970s (Special thanks to the Jones family).

The Canis Panthers are very muscular dogs that kinda resembles a doberman on steriods, with the exception of colors.Dobies don't come in these solid colors: black, blue, fawn, chocolate and dark chocolate.

I find these dogs to be the ultimate breed for serious protection work.The canis panther has a natural instinct to be leery of people, they are defensive of His/Her pack (family)and its territory. These dogs are true working dogs who love to please and are not tricked or intimidated.He took the following breeds ;the black great dane, black labradore, doberman pinscher and the staffordshire terrier to come up with the ultimate protection dog. A ignorant person might call these dogs mutts,but they are quit the opposite ,they are a extremly rare breed to own and are a established pure breed .If you want a serious, intelligent, head turning, leery of people , family loving, bad guy stopping dog, then this breed is the one for you.We recommend if you have small children that you puchase a puppy, also the older panthers are for mature handlers, not a person who after a drink or two wants to put his dog on someone, because these dogs will go to work. They are natural protection dogs and they learn real easy, so if you add any protection training to your pup ,(once he becomes of age)he will excel beautifully for you, way past your expectation. Temperament

These dogs are very smart and do not trust unknown people by nature. They also love to please thier leader which makes thier training easy.

From the panthers I'v seen and own, they all are defensive minded, but can basicly be broken down into three catogories;

Aggressive:(to others not owner). I have never seen a panther with his/her owner.If not socialized to be around people you will have a hihgly people aggressive dog, as with any breed that you do not socialize as a pup.

Shy: Some if not most may seem to wanna be in thier own space.Again what you do with your pup is what you end up with. If you don't want a shy dog, then just as with any breed ,you need to take your dog as many as new places as you can and spend as much time possible doing it. This will help your dog get use to new places,people,animals,noises,new situations,etc....also it makes them more comfortable when back home.

Playful and very socialable: These panthers are what I consider to be the ideal panther in temperament, because a sociable panther can be around people, which make the sociable panther better protection then one that has to be locked up when company comes by.They will come right up to you with the type of attitude like "lets play" not like other panthers who attitude say "stay out my space." Panthers are born protectors,which are very smart, these dogs learn alot from just watching peoples reactions and the other dogs.So to introduce a little protection work to a people friendly panthers is very easy to do. Then you will have a sociable panther as well as one you can turn on and off like a light.

I breed the original Scropio Jones Canis Panthers with Mr.Jones himself. This man is very knowledgeable of dogs and especially of the breed that he created over 30 years ago. He doesn't churn out a mass number of puppies, which is why the public is unaware of the true scropio canis panther.For the few people who have heard of canis panther, probably have not seen the temperaments, body structure and playfulness of a true scropio canis panther.He is upset that alot of people think they have gotten canis panthers but haven't gotten the original canis panther dog which he created years ago.

He knows how his breed should be bred, to maintain the standards,dispositionand temperament of the original scropio canis panther he founded over 30 years ago.
